At JOCDEF, we are dedicated to advancing sustainable agriculture practices that support the resilience of farmers in Sebei and neighboring communities. Through the adoption of climate-smart farming techniques, we aim to equip farmers with the tools, knowledge, and resources needed to adapt to changing environmental conditions while improving productivity.

Capacity Building & Training

We focus on empowering farmers with the skills and knowledge required to implement climate-smart agricultural practices. Our programs include:

• Training Programs: Providing farmers with hands-on training in climate-smart farming techniques tailored to the agro-ecological conditions of Sebei. This includes water conservation, soil fertility management, and crop diversification.
• Building Capacity for Resilience: Equipping farmers with the ability to adapt to the impacts of climate change and improve their long-term agricultural practices.

Establishing a Resource Centre

To ensure that farmers have access to the latest information on climate and weather, we will establish a resource centre that serves as an information hub:

• Resource Centre: A well-equipped centre providing up-to-date resources, weather forecasts, and climate change information. The centre will also offer educational materials and workshops to support sustainable farming practices.

Mapping & Situation Analysis

In order to better understand the unique challenges faced by farmers in the region, we will conduct:

• Mapping and Situation Analysis: A comprehensive study to assess the current farming practices, challenges, and opportunities within Sebei, enabling us to tailor our programs to meet the specific needs of local farmers.

Awareness Campaigns & Tools

Increasing awareness is crucial to the successful adoption of climate-smart farming practices. Our efforts include:

• Farmer Awareness Campaigns: Outreach activities designed to educate farmers on climate change, its effects on agriculture, and how to implement sustainable farming practices.
• Development of Awareness Tools: Creating practical and accessible tools, such as brochures, posters, and digital resources, that communicate climate-smart farming techniques in a way that resonates with local communities.

Sensitizing Farming Communities
